No single organization runs Celebration's 30th anniversary month. The Celebration Foundation has Friday, Nov. 6. Town Hall has Saturday, Nov. 7. Three weeks later, the snow that starts on Market Street is presented by Lexin Capital.
The anniversary calendar for November 2026 is tidy. Friday, Nov. 6 has a talk. Saturday, Nov. 7 has a parade, a town photo and a concert. Saturday, Nov. 28 has the first snowfall of the season. Each night on that list comes from a different organization. Taken in order, they tell the story of how Celebration has been run since the first family moved in.
| Date | Event | Who puts it on |
|---|---|---|
| Fri., Nov. 6, 4 p.m. | Final 30th Anniversary Speaker Series talk | Celebration Foundation |
| Sat., Nov. 7 | Founders Day, 30th Anniversary Celebration | Celebration Town Hall, Parks and Recreation |
| Sat., Nov. 14 | Embrace of Celebration Music Festival; Alfa Romeo Car Show | Festival organizers; no host named for the car show |
| Sat., Nov. 28 | Tree Lighting and the opening of the 28th Annual Now Snowing | Presented by Lexin Capital |
The Anniversary Party Is Five Days Early
The town's founding date and its party date are different days. A ClickOrlando history of Celebration traces the timeline. Disney announced the plans to the public in 1991 and broke ground in 1994. The first family moved in on June 18, 1996. November 12, 1996 marked the completion of downtown, and that date is the one the outlet calls Celebration's "Founders Day."
This year's celebration lands on Saturday, Nov. 7, the closest Saturday before the historical date.
The same ClickOrlando piece makes two points that frame the rest of the month. Celebration is a New Urbanism community that Disney developed, and it was never incorporated as a town or city. Disney also no longer owns it, and the outlet reports that downtown was sold to private investors in January 2004. That means no city council or mayor sets the anniversary calendar. Several organizations each handle one piece of it.
Friday Goes to the Organization Disney Started
The oldest of these hosts gets the first night. According to the Celebration Foundation, the Walt Disney Company formed the Foundation in 1996 to promote civic involvement in the community. For its own 30th year, the Foundation has run a monthly speaker series since April.
The Foundation describes the series this way:
"Every month, there will be an opportunity to hear about a different phase of how Celebration came to be."
Sessions alternated between the second Saturday and the third Wednesday of the month, and each Saturday talk was followed by a walking tour. Topics ran from Pattern Book and Planning in April to Traditions, Founders' Stories, Community Organizations, Health and Technology. The April and June sessions were listed as filled to capacity, with a waitlist only.
The last session is on Friday, Nov. 6 at 4 p.m., and its subject is the Celebration Foundation itself. Like the rest of the series, it takes place at 690 Celebration Avenue, which the Foundation identifies as the original Town Hall. It's free, and registration is required through celebrationfoundation.org or the Foundation Office at 407-566-1234. The Foundation Disney formed in 1996 closes its anniversary year with a talk about itself, in the building where the town's government first worked. That's one day before the town's own celebration.
Saturday Goes to Town Hall
Founders Day is listed under Celebration Town Hall, and the event page sends questions to the Parks and Recreation Department at [email protected] or 407-566-1200. The day comes in two parts with a long break between them, and the official listing gives its hours as 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 5 to 10 p.m.
According to the official Founders Day listing, the morning goes like this:
- A Veterans Day Parade from Lakeside Park to Founders Park.
- The Veterans Day Ceremony at Founders Park. The page lists 10:30 a.m. in its schedule and 10:00 a.m. in its description, so the earlier time is the safer one to plan around.
- The 30th Anniversary Town Photo at 11:45 a.m.
The evening moves to Celebration Town Center, and admission is free and open to the public. DJ Bubbles opens at 5 p.m. From 7 to 9 p.m., the Pop2000 Concert brings Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, O-Town, Ryan Cabrera and LFO, with free standing-room access. DJ Bubbles comes back at 9. A drone show presented by AdventHealth and featuring Dronisos starts at 9:20, and Ryan Cabrera plays a guest DJ set at 9:30. The page also lists Kid Zone inflatables and food and beverage tents. It notes the schedule is still being updated and may change.
The 11:45 a.m. town photo is the only item on the whole calendar that needs the people who live here in order to happen. The concert, the drone show and the snow all go on no matter who turns up. A photo of 30 years of neighbors only works if the neighbors are in it.
The Middle Saturday Has No Single Host
The Saturday after Founders Day splits up. The free Embrace of Celebration Music Festival runs from noon to 9 p.m. on Nov. 14 on the Great Lawn at Lakeside Park. The festival's organizers list 15 acts, with food and drinks from local sponsors. On the same day, the Town Center calendar lists the Alfa Romeo Car Show at 701 Front Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The next afternoon, Nov. 15, Celebrachocolicious Chocolate Adventure runs from noon to 3 p.m. It's held in Celebration Pointe and Island Village, away from downtown. That weekend has a festival on the lawn, cars on Front Street and chocolate in the villages, each put on by a different group. It's the last quiet stretch before Market Street becomes something else for five weeks.
The Snow Has a Presenting Sponsor
On Saturday, Nov. 28, the tree lighting ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m., the countdown starts at 5:55 and the first snowfall comes at 6:00. That night opens the 28th Annual Now Snowing, which runs through Dec. 31, 2026. Snow falls on Market Street every night at 6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m., and admission and public parking are free.
A 28th season means snow has been falling on Market Street for nearly as long as people have lived in Celebration. According to Experience Kissimmee's event listing, this year's event is presented by Lexin Capital and sponsored in part by Celebration Town Tavern and Experience Kissimmee. The official Now Snowing page describes the event as welcoming visitors from across Central Florida, the rest of the state and around the world. Founders Day is a Town Hall event built around a town photo. Now Snowing is a privately presented event that a county tourism group helps sponsor, and the two happen three weeks apart on the same streets.
Prices on the official page include one for residents only.
- Ice skating: $15 for 30 minutes, plus $5 walker rental, $2 socks and $5 adult shoe covers
- Resident Skate Pass: $60
- Horse and carriage ride: $85 for a private ride for up to four people, $10 for each extra person, space limited
- Wagon ride: $7 per person on a public ride
- Santa photos: price depends on the package; nightly through Dec. 24, closed Christmas Day, with "Special Summer Santa" from Dec. 26 to 31
The Resident Skate Pass is the one item on the official page sold specifically to people who live here. A single skating session costs $15, so the pass costs the same as four sessions.
What Keeps Running Through All of It
The Celebration Farmers Market goes on every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 603 Market Street, with local produce, artisan vendors and live music. It doesn't stop for the anniversary or the snow. On Dec. 11, Town Center hosts the WESH 2 Share Your Christmas food drive from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., well before the evening snow crowd arrives. The Town Center directory also lists Campus Customs Design Shoppe as "OPENING SOON!!!" at 606 Market Street, Suite 120, a block from the market, with no opening date posted yet.
Two dates are worth putting on the calendar now. The town photo on Nov. 7 at 11:45 a.m. happens once in 30 years. The first snowfall on Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. has happened every year for 28 of them.
Thirty years of Celebration also means 30 years of homes changing hands around Market Street and the lakes.
